01 / About

Software Developer & Problem Solver

I build software by starting with the problem, understanding the workflow behind it, and designing systems that can support the people and businesses using them.

My work spans backend development with Python and Django, modern frontend development with React and Next.js, REST APIs, third-party integrations, payment workflows, authentication and authorisation, real-time communication, AI-enabled systems and blockchain experimentation.

I work across the full development lifecycle — from system architecture and database design to backend logic, API integration, frontend implementation and deployment.

Alongside engineering, I teach programming, AI literacy and modern tooling to young learners. Explaining a system to someone who has never written one is the fastest way I know to find out whether its boundaries are actually clear.

  • Boundaries over layers of convenience

System shape

Every project here follows the same shape: a client, an API that owns the rules, and a data layer. The differences are in what sits between them.

02 / Engineering Approach

How I Think About Software

A project is not a collection of pages. It is a set of components that have to agree with each other under load, under failure and under change. I spend most of my effort on making sure they do.

The delivery loop

  1. Problem

Understand the workflow and who it serves.

  2. Architecture

Place responsibilities and model the data.

  3. Implementation

Build the backend logic and the API surface.

  4. Integration

Wire in external services and payment flows.

  5. Testing

Verify behaviour, boundaries and edge cases.

  6. Deployment

Ship it, then make it observable.

  7. Iteration

Feed real usage back into the design.

What I judge a system against

Architecture

Deciding where responsibilities live before writing features. If the boundaries are wrong, no amount of clean code inside them will help.

Reliability

Knowing what happens when a dependency is slow, down or lying. Failure handling is a design decision, not an afterthought.

Security

Authentication, authorisation and validation enforced on the server, because the client is an untrusted suggestion.

Maintainability

Code that a stranger can change safely. Readable structure, honest naming and tests that describe behaviour rather than implementation.

User Experience

Interface decisions driven by what the system is actually doing — showing real progress and real state instead of a spinner that hides both.

Scalability

Designing for the next order of magnitude of traffic before it arrives, so growth is a configuration change rather than a rewrite.

In practiceArchitecture → Reliability → Security → Maintainability → User Experience → Scalability. The order matters: a fast interface over an unmaintainable backend is not a good product, and a secure one that nobody can operate is not either.

03 / Technical Capabilities

What I build with, and why

Grouped by the role each technology plays, because a list of sixty badges says nothing about how you work. This is the shape of the systems I build.

Backend & Systems

Where most of my work lives — the business rules, the data model and the API surface that everything else depends on.

DestinyPair

Christian Singles Community Platform

DestinyPair is a Christian singles community platform designed for people seeking meaningful relationships, serious connections and marriage-focused community. It is the largest product I have shipped and the one that pushed me furthest as an engineer, because the difficulty was never the profile grid — it was identity, trust, discovery and the paid-intent workflow behind a relationship product.

What I built

  • User authentication with email and social sign-in
  • Profile creation, management and staged profile completion
  • Compatibility logic and server-side matchmaking
  • User discovery with filtering and ordered results
  • Subscription architecture and payment workflow
  • Direct messaging between permitted members
  • Admin management surface
  • Responsive React frontend

Pure Intentions Global Tech Services

Digital Technology Services Platform

Pure Intentions Global Tech Services is a digital technology services platform showcasing software development and technology solutions for businesses, organizations and individuals. Where DestinyPair is a product, this is a business front door — the site that has to load fast, read clearly on a phone, and turn a visitor into an enquiry without any of the usual template noise.

What I built

  • Service and capability presentation for businesses and individuals
  • Fully responsive, mobile-first layout
  • Semantic, accessible markup with a coherent heading structure
  • Clear, prominent contact and enquiry paths
  • Zero framework runtime — fast first paint on mobile connections

Where I have applied it

Engineering work and instruction, side by side. Teaching is not separate from building — explaining a system precisely is a large part of designing it well.

Professional Experience

Code / Web Development Instructor

Uptech Computer Training Academy

2024 — Present

Teach programming and web development across the full stack, from first principles through to deployed Django and React applications.

  • Teach Python and Django for backend development, from syntax and data structures through to project structure and deployment.
  • Teach JavaScript and React for frontend development, including component architecture and state handling.
  • Teach HTML and CSS for responsive, accessible web interfaces, and Scratch programming for complete beginners.
  • Cover programming fundamentals, web development essentials and database design with SQL.

Code Instructor

TechCiti

Present

I teach children coding, AI literacy, and modern technology tools at TechCiti, helping young learners develop practical digital skills and understand how emerging technologies can be used creatively and responsibly.

  • Combine coding education with AI literacy, so learners understand not only how to program but what these systems do.
  • Introduce modern technology tools alongside programming fundamentals, and show how they fit together.
  • Teach through practical, project-based work rather than exercises in isolation.
  • Explain technical concepts in an age-appropriate way, without flattening the ideas into something vague.
  • Discuss responsible use as well as creative use, so students build good habits alongside working ones.

Online Code Tutor

TutorsZone

Present

I work as an online coding tutor with TutorsZone, teaching children in the diaspora programming and coding concepts through structured, age-appropriate lessons and practical projects.

  • Deliver live online instruction to children in the diaspora, one to one and in small groups.
  • Teach programming fundamentals, then apply them immediately in practical projects.
  • Break technical concepts into simple, understandable ideas without reducing them to hand-waving.
  • Support students from different backgrounds and locations, adjusting pace and explanation to the learner in front of me.

Full-Stack AI Systems Engineer (Sprint Operator)

Uptech Computer Training Academy

2025 — Present

Build and ship complete client systems end to end — backend architecture, API design, AI integration and the frontend that sits on top — under sprint constraints and with production-style review gates.

  • Design and implement backend systems in Python and Django, including REST APIs, data models and role-based access control.
  • Integrate external services and LLM APIs into working application workflows rather than isolated demos.
  • Treat security, architecture and deployment criteria as acceptance gates rather than post-build cleanups.
  • Work inside a sprint process with structured review, so delivery decisions are made against defined passing criteria.

Developer & Educator

I build software systems and also teach the next generation how to understand and use technology.

Explaining a system to someone who has never written one forces you to be precise about where responsibilities live and why. Teaching programming, AI literacy and modern tooling to young learners across three organisations has sharpened that ability considerably — and it is the same discipline the engineering work in this portfolio is about, applied in a different direction.

  • PythonLanguage fundamentals to application structure
  • DjangoBackend development and the request lifecycle
  • JavaScriptLanguage and browser runtime behaviour
  • ReactComponents, state and interface architecture
  • HTML / CSSSemantic markup and responsive layout
  • AI LiteracyWhat these systems do, and how to use them responsibly
  • ScratchProgramming concepts for absolute beginners
  • Web FundamentalsHow the browser, server and network fit together
